SARGENT Introduces Profile Series v.N2 Lock with Aperio™ Technology First in Line of Aperio-Enabled Products That Will Cost-Effectively Raise Security Levels for Wide Variety of Facilities April 6, 2011 — Aperio is a new wireless technology from ASSA ABLOY that provides a simple, intelligent way to connect additional openings to an existing electronic access control system. The simplicity and flexibility of Aperio allow lower-cost installations than traditional access control with less complexity than other wireless options in the market. With over 25 access control partners that have already adopted the technology globally, security and IT managers can easily extend the number of doors that can be monitored with their currently installed panels and systems. The Sargent Profile Series v.N2 lock is the first Aperio-enabled product to be introduced by ASSA ABLOY to the North American security market. The new lock utilizes IEEE standards-based local wireless communication to connect to an online access control system while eliminating the greatest cost and inconvenience of traditional access control – the wiring at the door. The v.N2 Aperio-enabled lock combines integrated reader, monitoring and radio with ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 hardware and is available in 10 Line Bored Lock, 8200 Series Mortise Lock, and 80 Series Exit Device configurations. Real-time door status monitoring allows for immediate system response to events at the door. The v.N2 also supports HID® 13.56 MHz iCLASS® contactless credentials, with full authentication in all formats. Additionally, Aperio is the broadest global wireless locking solution, making it ideal for global companies who wish to deploy a standard infrastructure across multi-national locations.
