Aperio™ Wireless Lock Technology Featured in a Series of New Products at ASIS 2012 PHILADELPHIA, PA, September 10, 2012 — At ASIS 2012, ASSA ABLOY is showcasing a series of new Aperio wireless locks across a broad range of ASSA ABLOY Group brands. Offering the flexibility to address almost any application, Aperio wireless technology is now available in the new HES K100 battery-operated cabinet lock as well as Adams Rite A100 keyless entry control. The wireless K100 cabinet lock simplifies installation and lowers cost to readily bring access control to cabinets, lockers and drawers where audit trail and monitoring may be needed. The K100 is available with either HID iCLASS or Prox credential technologies, which makes it perfect for loss prevention and for controlled access in areas such as inventory storage cabinets, display cases, electronics storage, healthcare supplies, military equipment, dorm storage, and server cabinets. The A100 provides keyless entry control for Adams Rite deadbolts, deadlatches and exit devices that are compatible with narrow stile aluminum and glass door applications. The wireless A100 series offers all the benefits of keyless security along with Aperio technology providing an innovative new approach to online access control. Aperio technology can instantly upgrade a mechanical door to a fully-functioning online door without the cost and inconvenience of wiring the door, greatly improving the monitoring and security level of the premises. These recent additions round out the family of Aperio wireless locks, which now includes the SARGENT IN100 and PR100 commercial and institutional locks. The Medeco M100 eCylinder will also be introduced this fall. Aperio is a global, wireless platform that provides an easy, affordable way to connect additional openings to an existing electronic access control system. It uses short-distance wireless communication (IEEE 802.15.4) between the lock and an Aperio hub to link to an electronic access control system. This simplifies the overall installation, reducing costs and complexity in comparison to traditional access control. Designed for effective operation and quick, easy wireless deployment, the Aperio system requires minimal field configuration. With real-time authentication and alarms, Aperio uses AES 128-bit wireless encryption and supports HID® 125 kHz prox or 13.56 MHz iCLASS® credentials with full authentication in all formats. With a growing list of access control partners that have already adopted the technology globally, Aperio offers easy integration with most manufacturers’ electronic access control systems.
